Marketing Prompts – how to use them
In marketing copy AI gives you options; your audience shows which one works. So ask for 3-5 alternatives instead of one text and try them with a small audience or an A/B test. Writing your product’s real features, price and target audience makes the output much more concrete.
Do not have the AI write a feature you do not have, a fake review or an exaggerated promise. That damages customer trust and breaks advertising rules. If you use a customer review, only edit one that is real and used with permission. Consumer and advertising law varies by country; if unsure, ask an expert.
- State the audience, price and one main benefit.
- Ask for 3-5 alternatives and test them.
- Verify numerical claims yourself.
- Use reviews only with permission and in their real form.
Example: a weak prompt and a strong prompt
Weak prompt
Write an ad.
Strong prompt
Write an attention-grabbing subject line for an email newsletter about handmade soy candles, plus 3 alternatives. Audience: women who love home decor. Tone: warm, understated.
Sample output generated with Claude
Main: A new scent for your evenings
Alternative 1: Change how your home smells this week
Alternative 2: Our 40-hour lavender candle is here
Alternative 3: Evenings that start with a small ritual
Note: run an A/B test on a small part of your list to see which opens best. The “40-hour” claim must be verified for your product.
This output is an example from running the strong prompt above with Claude. Results can differ in ChatGPT, other tools or at other times; check the output yourself before using it.
Frequently asked questions
Does AI improve ad performance?
It speeds up idea and variant generation. Performance depends on the right audience and testing; try output on a small group.
Is it safe to edit customer reviews?
Only edit real reviews you have permission to publish, to make them readable; do not change the meaning or invent reviews.
Can I have it copy competitors’ copy?
No. Copying someone’s text creates copyright and ethical problems. Ask the AI for original copy based on your own product’s features.
