TYT Net Calculator
Enter correct and wrong answers for the four TYT tests to see each net and the total.
TYT net formula
The net for each TYT test is Net = Correct − Wrong ÷ 4. Four wrong answers cancel one correct one; blanks do not count. Add the four nets to get the total TYT net.
| Test | Questions |
|---|---|
| Turkish | 40 |
| Social Sciences | 20 |
| Basic Math | 40 |
| Natural Sciences | 20 |
| Total | 120 |
How to use it
- Enter your correct and wrong counts for each test. You do not need to enter blanks.
- Press Run to see the net for each test and the total.
- If correct plus wrong exceeds the number of questions, the tool shows a warning; check the numbers.
Worked example
| Test | Correct | Wrong | Net |
|---|---|---|---|
| Turkish | 30 | 6 | 28.50 |
| Social Sciences | 15 | 3 | 14.25 |
| Basic Math | 25 | 8 | 23.00 |
| Natural Sciences | 10 | 4 | 9.00 |
| Total | 74.75 / 120 |
In Turkish, 30 correct and 6 wrong gives 30 − 6÷4 = 28.50. In math, 8 wrong cancel two correct, so 25 correct is a net of 23.
Things to keep in mind
- This tool computes nets, not scores. The TYT score comes from ÖSYM's statistical method based on all candidates' results that year.
- Practice-test nets can differ from the real exam because of difficulty and exam stress.
- Rules and question distribution can change. Check the current ÖSYM guide.
Practical ways to raise your net
The net calculation is the fastest way to see which test costs you points during practice exams. Record the four nets separately after each mock exam, and when a subject has many wrong answers, look first for reasoning slips and then for knowledge gaps. Because a wrong answer costs a quarter point, questions where you can eliminate two options are often worth attempting, while questions where you cannot eliminate any can be left blank. This is not a fixed rule: your own mock-exam data will show which strategy works better for you.
Frequently asked questions
How is the TYT net calculated?
In each test the number of wrong answers divided by four is subtracted from the correct answers: net = correct − wrong ÷ 4. The four nets are added; the maximum is 120.
How many questions are in the TYT?
The TYT has 120 questions: Turkish 40, Social Sciences 20, Basic Math 40 and Natural Sciences 20.
Does this tool calculate the TYT score?
No. The placement score comes from ÖSYM's statistical method applied to each year's results. This tool only computes net scores.
Does leaving a question blank affect my net?
A blank counts as zero. A wrong answer removes a quarter of a point, so it is worth weighing the risk on questions you are unsure about.
