Retirement Pension Estimator (Post-2008)
Enter your premium days and updated average monthly earnings to see the accrual rate and estimated pension.
How the pension is calculated
For people insured from 1 October 2008 under Turkey's Law 5510 (4/a, employees), the monthly pension is average monthly earnings × accrual rate.
- Accrual rate: 2% for every 360 days of premiums, capped at 90%. The cap is reached at 16,200 days. Periods under 360 days count proportionally.
- Average monthly earnings: each year's insured earnings are updated with an official coefficient up to the date of the claim, summed, divided by total premium days and multiplied by 30.
- Estimated pension: average monthly earnings × accrual rate.
The update coefficient depends on inflation and growth data, so this tool does not compute it. Enter your already-updated average monthly earnings, which you can get from your SGK records.
Worked examples
| Premium days | Years | Accrual rate | Average earnings | Estimated pension |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7,200 | 20 | 40% | 45,000 | 18,000 |
| 9,000 | 25 | 50% | 60,000 | 30,000 |
| 16,200 | 45 | 90% | 50,000 | 45,000 |
7,200 days is the minimum premium requirement for people insured from 1 May 2008. Raising days from 5,400 to 7,200 lifts the rate from 30% to 40%, a one-third increase in the pension.
Eligibility in brief
- The minimum premium days are 7,200 for those insured from 1 May 2008 and 7,000 for those insured between 9 September 1999 and 30 April 2008.
- The age requirement depends on when you were first insured and on gender. Use SGK or the e-Devlet service to check your exact position.
- People insured before 2008 have a different or blended accrual calculation; this tool covers only the post-2008 rule.
Things to keep in mind
- The result is an estimate. The pension is recalculated from SGK records and the coefficient on the day of the claim.
- Minimum pension floors and holiday bonuses are not included; they are set separately and change over time.
- Self-employed (4/b) and civil servant (4/c) pensions use different methods.
- Late-career pay rises move the average slowly: 27 years at 40,000 and 3 years at 120,000 give an average of 48,000.
