PDF Rotator
Rotate every page in your PDF by the angle you choose.
When should you use this?
Use this to fix pages that got scanned in the wrong orientation (sideways or upside down), especially in multi-page documents scanned in mixed directions.
When shouldn't you use this?
If the whole document is consistently rotated the same wrong way, fixing the scanner or printer setting and rescanning may save you repeat work down the line.
Step-by-step
- Choose the document you want to fix in the PDF file field.
- Pick 90°, 180° or 270° from the Angle menu. Upside-down pages need 180°; sideways pages need 90° or 270°.
- Click Rotate and download.
- Open the downloaded file. If the pages are still sideways, they turned the opposite way from what you expected. Go back to the original file and try the other side angle (270° instead of 90°, or the reverse).
Example
You scanned a 12-page lease with your phone and every page came out lying on its left side. You rotate by 90° and the pages are still wrong, so you discard the result and rotate the original by 270° instead. Missing on the first try is common, since it's easy to misjudge which way a page is lying on screen. A trick that helps: look at which edge the top of the text is pointing to before you choose.
Rotating PDF pages
You can fix a PDF scanned in the wrong direction by rotating it 90, 180 or 270 degrees. The tool rotates every page in the file by the same angle; there is no option to pick only certain pages. Rotation changes the page's display orientation, not its content. The original file is unchanged and the result downloads as a new file.
When rotating
- If only some pages are wrong, you can split the PDF, rotate the relevant pages separately and then merge.
- Rotating 90° counter-clockwise gives the same result as 270° clockwise.
- Text selection and search work normally in the rotated file.
- Open the result and check that all pages face the right way.
Things to keep in mind
- The angle applies to every page in the file. If only a few pages are wrong, pull them out with the split tool, rotate them, then put the document back together with the merge tool.
- Rotations stack. Rotating by 90° twice gives the same result as one 180° turn, so start from the original file each time you try a new angle.
- Rotation changes how the page is displayed, not the content. A scan that's crooked by a few degrees won't be straightened here.
- Before sending the file to anyone, open it in a second PDF reader to confirm the orientation looks right there too.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?

Is there a file size limit?
There's no fixed limit, but very large files may process more slowly depending on your browser's available memory.
Does this work on password-protected PDFs?
No — password-protected PDFs can't be opened, so you'll need to remove the password first.
