Open Graph Generator - DigiKitApp
Generate Open Graph meta tags for social sharing.
When should you use this?
Use this when you need to generate the Open Graph tags that determine the title, description, and image shown when a page is shared on social media.
When shouldn't you use this?
After generating the tags, you still need to add them to the page's actual HTML (or your CMS); this tool only produces the code, it doesn't insert it into your site automatically.

Step-by-step
- Enter the headline you want on the share card in Title. It doesn't have to match the SEO title; a social post can use a more inviting phrase.
- Add a one or two sentence summary in Description.
- Paste the page's full address into URL and the full https address of the preview image into Image URL.
- Click Run, then copy the generated meta tags into the page's head section or the matching field in your CMS.
Example
A yoga studio publishes a page for a new weekend workshop, but when people share it in group chats the preview shows the site logo and a scrap of menu text. Put the workshop name in Title, the date and theme in Description and the poster's address in Image URL, then add the generated tags to the page. From then on, shares show the workshop itself, so people know what they are opening before they tap the link.
What are Open Graph tags for?
When a link is shared on a social network or messaging app, the title, description and image shown come from Open Graph (og:) tags. The tags go in the page's head. The main tags are og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url and og:type. When they are missing the platform guesses and usually shows a poorer preview.
Tips for Open Graph
- Use an image of about 1200×630 pixels; very small images may look blurry or not show at all.
- Keep the title short and the description to a sentence or two.
- The image address must be absolute (starting with https).
- After you change the tags, platforms may cache the old preview; you may need to wait or use the platform's refresh tool.
Things to keep in mind
- Use an absolute image URL. A path like "/img/poster.jpg" without the domain usually can't be fetched by social platforms.
- A landscape image around 1200 x 630 pixels is the commonly recommended size. Square or tall images may be cropped on some platforms.
- Platforms cache link previews. If the old preview keeps appearing after you fix the tags, use the platform's own sharing debugger to refresh it.
- The image must be publicly reachable, not behind a login or on an internal-only server.
