Available styles
- Bold, italic, bold italic: readable and widely supported.
- Script and gothic: more decorative; may look different across fonts.
- Double-struck, monospace, sans: a clean modern look.
- Circled, squared, fullwidth: eye-catching for short names.
- Framed nicknames: ready-made patterns with symbols such as ★彡 and ꧁.
Example
Typing "Sinan Cip" gives bold 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐩, bold script 𝓢𝓲𝓷𝓪𝓷 𝓒𝓲𝓹 and a framed version ꧁ 𝓢𝓲𝓷𝓪𝓷 𝓒𝓲𝓹 ꧂.
Things to keep in mind
- Screen readers may not read these characters. Put important details in plain text as well.
- Search and some apps may not match decorative letters with plain ones, so keep a plain version where discoverability matters.
- Platforms may strip some characters or reject them in usernames.
Where are these styles useful?
Instagram bios and display names, TikTok profiles, Discord and in-game nicknames, WhatsApp status and X/Twitter profiles are the most common places. Decorative text works for short strings; writing long paragraphs in these styles hurts readability. Styling only part of your name and leaving the rest plain keeps it readable and searchable. Do a short test first to check that the characters display correctly in the target app.
Frequently asked questions
How do fancy text styles work?
They are not fonts. They are mathematical and decorative letters from Unicode, so the text can be copied and pasted, but an app whose font lacks those characters may show boxes.
Can I use them in an Instagram username?
No. Instagram usernames allow only letters, numbers, periods and underscores. Use these styles in your display name, bio and captions.
Why are Turkish letters converted?
These styles have no equivalents for ç, ğ, ı, ö, ş or ü, so the tool converts them to the closest plain letter before styling.
Can I use these as a game nickname?
Some games accept plain letters only. Check which characters your game allows before choosing.
