The sum of two six-sided dice is not equally likely; middle results come up more often.

About randomness
The tool uses the browser's secure random number generator and results are never sent to a server. Each roll is independent; earlier rolls do not affect the next one. Rolling three sixes in a row does not change the chance that the fourth is a six.
Dice notation: what does 2d6 mean?
Board games and role-playing games write dice in a short notation. The first number is how many dice, and the number after the d is how many sides: 2d6 means two six-sided dice, 1d20 one twenty-sided die.
A number added at the end is added to the total: 1d20+3 means roll a twenty-sided die and add 3. To follow a rule written this way, set the number of dice and sides in the tool, then add the extra value to the result yourself.

Are the dice results really random?
The tool uses the browser's secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) and corrects for bias, so every face has an equal chance.
Which dice types are there?
d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20 and d100. The d20 is the most common in tabletop role-playing games.
What total comes up most with two dice?
The sum of two six-sided dice is most often 7 (6 of 36 combinations, about 16.7%). 2 and 12 each have one combination, about 2.8%.
Can it be used for gambling?
It is meant for fun, games and decisions. It is not designed for games played for money and accepts no responsibility for that.
