Delete PDF Pages

Type the page numbers to remove (e.g. 2,5-7) and download the PDF without them.

How to use it

  1. Choose the PDF file.
  2. Type the pages to delete: 3 for one page, 2,5 for several, 5-7 for a range. You can combine them: 2,5-7,10.
  3. Press "Delete pages and download"; you will see how many pages were removed and how many remain.

Example

In a 10-page PDF, typing 2,5-7 removes pages 2, 5, 6 and 7, leaving a 6-page PDF made of pages 1, 3, 4, 8, 9 and 10. Page numbers count from the first page of the file, not the number printed on the page.

When it helps

  • Cleaning blank or unnecessary pages from an application file.
  • Removing a cover sheet or a badly scanned page from a scan.
  • Taking out pages that contain private details before sharing.

Things to keep in mind

  • Your original file is untouched; the result downloads as a new file.
  • A page number larger than the total pages causes an error.
  • Bookmarks and links pointing to deleted pages may stop working.
  • Open the new file and check it before sharing if you removed sensitive pages.

When to split instead of delete

Deleting suits removing a few unwanted pages. If you only want a small part of a file (say 10 pages from a 200-page book), extracting that range with the PDF split tool is more practical. If you need pages from several files in one document, merge them first and then use this tool. It is good practice to open the new file afterwards and check that the right pages were removed.

Check the result after deleting

When you open the new file, look at the page count first: removing 3 pages from a 20-page document should leave 17. Then skim the remaining pages.

  • Page numbers printed on the pages themselves are not renumbered; if you delete page 5, the document will go from 4 to 6.
  • Links in a table of contents or in the text that pointed to a deleted page will no longer work.
  • Your original file is not changed, so you can start again if something looks wrong.
