Tools for SEO Specialists
The meta tag, schema, and performance tools worth checking before you publish.
There are a handful of small, high-leverage checks worth doing before a page goes live. Meta Title Checker and Meta Description Checker flag whether a title or description will get truncated in Google's results based on character length, and SERP Preview simulates how both will actually look in a search result. Schema Generator builds structured data blocks without hand-writing JSON-LD, while Robots.txt Generator and Sitemap Generator prepare your crawl rules and page list in the right format. Keyword Density Checker measures repetition in a piece of text, and Core Web Vitals Checker gives you a quick read on a page's speed and stability metrics.
What are these tools good for?
Part of SEO is strategy, and a big part is the pre-launch checklist. After a new page, a site migration or a redesign, these tools cover the things to check in order.
- Meta Title Checker: Check each new title for truncation in search results before a bulk title update goes live.
- Meta Description Checker: Keep lengths consistent when writing many descriptions, such as for category and product pages.
- SERP Preview: Show a client or content team how a title and description will actually look in a search result.
- Schema Generator: Add JSON-LD structured data to product, FAQ, article or local business pages.
- Robots.txt Generator: For a new site, or when you want to keep crawlers out of sections like an admin area or internal search results.
- Sitemap Generator: For small sites whose CMS doesn't produce a sitemap, or to submit the new URL list after a migration.
- Keyword Density Checker: See whether a text uses the target phrase naturally or repeats it too much.
- Core Web Vitals Checker: After a new theme, plugin or image change, see whether LCP, INP and CLS got worse.
A sample workflow
A client's blog is moving to a new domain. You build a sitemap from the new URL list with the Sitemap Generator. With the Robots.txt Generator, you make sure the old rule that blocked the staging site is gone. Titles and descriptions for the top pages go through the Meta Title and Meta Description Checkers, and SERP Preview shows the client the result. Article pages get structured data from the Schema Generator. After launch, the Core Web Vitals Checker measures the homepage and a few sample posts.
Tip
Robots.txt stops a page from being crawled, but it does not guarantee the page stays out of the index. If you want a page kept out of search results entirely, use a noindex tag and don't block that page in robots.txt. Otherwise the search engine can never see the tag.
