Notion AI works inside the Notion workspace. It can summarize a page, rewrite or translate text, pull action items from meeting notes and answer questions using the pages and databases in your workspace. It also offers automations such as filling database columns by reading page content. Availability and scope depend on your Notion plan, so check Notion's current pricing page to see which feature is on which plan.
Getting better results
The better organized your workspace is, the more accurate the answers: give pages meaningful titles and keep related notes in the same database. A concrete question such as "list this week's completed tasks with their owners" gives a more useful result than a general "summarize". Compare a generated summary with the original note before sharing it, paying particular attention to dates and numbers.
Privacy and alternatives

Who is it for?
Notion AI makes the most sense for teams that already keep their notes, projects and documents in Notion. If you do not use Notion, it is not a reason on its own; a standalone assistant fits better.

- Notion AI is included in the Business and Enterprise plans. Free and Plus users get a limited number of complimentary AI responses to try it.
- The standalone AI add-on for Free and Plus plans was retired in May 2025 for new customers.
- Features include a Notion Agent that can create or edit pages and databases, workspace search that can include connected apps such as Slack and Google Drive, AI Meeting Notes, and Research Mode (Business and Enterprise).
